There he was. Sitting down on the pavement at the corner of bay and bloor st this afternoon, at 5:36pm. He didn't speak much. He held up a sign that said unemployed and needs food! Godbless you. He looked like a ratty old doll that had been laying around in the mud and then thrown in the garbage. He wore a hat that said " got beer?". Little parts of his grey hair were revealing under his cap. His hair almost seemed as if it had some sort of yellow in it. He wore a dark green coat that was buttoned up and grey velvet pants. His shoes were velcro and weren't sticking very well.
He has been on the street for almost a whole year now. His wife kicked him out of the house because he was unemployed and she was a snob herself. He had no children just a dog that lay beside him. Both of them haven't eaten. They were eating out of the garbage today. Eating cores of apples and leftovers that people waste.
They didn't bother anyone just sat down. They had a coffee time cup in front of them for spare change that any pedestrians may have for them. The cup was empty. All he really wanted was some food and maybe someone to talk to. Tell someone how he feels and share some jokes. Imagine being outside for a whole year by yourself, with no one to talk to except for a dog that can only bark back at you. As I walked past them I put 6 dollars in the cup and said to him have a nice day. He had a huge smile and said thank you, god bless you child.
I would have talked to this man but I was by myself and too scared. But just keep in mind that some people on the streets just don't have enough courage and power to get up and find a job. So help them out a quarter wont kill you but help another.

You may call her weird....
Walking and talking is what the woman in front of me did. She had a lisp from her tounge ring but that didn't stop her.She was wearing a long black coat and suede shoes. She didn't look like she was crazy but she was. She talked to everyone that that walked past her and asked them random questions. This woman had vibrant red hair that was cut to a bob, and very greasy. She hadn't showered in days. She wasn't homeless she was just freindly. Or weird. She socialized with complete strangers. She needed some one to talk to.
She was very polite when people kept walked away and didn't talk to her. As if she were use to it. Thirty five to forty years old is what she looked like. wrinkles forming but not many appearing. She asked one man if her knew that god loved him. the man replied everyone loves me. She replied excet me. He continued to walk and so did she. She didn't care what others thought about her she just walked and talked.

She walked the walk...?
As a woman today wallked by on bloor street she stroke her long beautiful blonde locks as the wind blew in her face. The amazement of her posture was as if she was walking the run way. Which she wasn't. She was just on her way to work like any other day. Her cigarette in one hand and her purse in the other. Her long white coat just covered her knees. Her black dress pants covered her stilettoes only allowing you to see three and half cm of her heel.
This lady was around the age of 23to 26 years old. She didn't have any children with her or a boyfriend with her. Alone she walked and inhaled the fresh air. She didn't smile much. Just
walked. Her vibrant red lip stick may have come off a bit on her pearly white teeth and she wouldnt want anyone to notice that. As she seemed to be a perfectionist. everything and every peice of her clothing was to not have a single wrinkle on it otherwise it was no good until it had been taken to the dry cleaners again.
Her french manicure was just painted on her gel nails a couple days ago. She was going to go back after work was over. She depended on everything being perfect. Her life were programmed on her blackberry. Life would never be the same withought that phone of hers.
After crossing the cross walk she stood outside this tall buliding that seemed as if she worked there. It looked as if it were a telemarketing office of some sort. She smoked her cigaretee threw it to the goround, stepped on it and walked on in.

Can anyone hear me?
Ring...Ring... Ring!
I guess im not that important. No one cares about a sony old phone on the hook like me. I mean come on I can be cool. I have fancy numbers that you can push on. I even have redial, and flash. Okay I don't have texting as you may communicate these days or Speakerphones, and caller id but atleast you can talk to someone through me. Isn't that good enough?
I try my best to look pretty and all shiny but all you care about is your cell phone. I can't compete any longer. This family drives me nuts with the new blackberrys. I mean im a home phone. Don't ignore me. Use me when you're at home. Don't you get the point of a home phone. What will it take for one person to even look at me these days. I think I should get a new plan. maybe call bell services and get some caller id on this screen.

And then it begins....
Monday February 9 Th
Mother to daughter conversation.
Daughter: "Mommy can we go get a treat?"
Mom: "No hunny we have to go pick up daddy from work and then have dinner."
Daughter:"What if we get a treat and then go pick up daddy.
Mom: "We'll go another day sweetheart."
Daughter: "No but I really want to go now"
Mom: another day I said okay."
Daughter: No write now!!
Mom: If you stop kicking up a fuss we'll go.
While I was on my way home from school today I heard a little girl asking her mother if she can go get a treat from the store. The little girl had seen an older man walk by with a chocolate bar, so now she wanted a treat.
While listening to this conversation I was thinking to myself that it was not very good for a mother or any parent in that matter to give in so easily to the child's needs. She should have kept to her word and got her a treat another day. Bribery is not something she should have done because that teaches the child wrong habits. I guess from the mothers perspective she just didn't want a big reaction from her so she just gave in. More and more parents use bribery as a way to get there child to do things and I think that that it is wong and they need to find a different solution.
Tuesday Febuary 10th
Two Girls on the bus
Girl 1: "Oh my gosh, so the other day I was at the dominion and I took so long because the lady infront of me was complaining that an item was on sale for 99cents when regularly its like $1 more, and I was getting so pissed."
Girl 2: "No way! HAHA."
Girl 1: "yea... I kno."
Today on the bus Iwas talking on the phone but as a hung up I heard these two girls talking very ditzy like. But this converstaion that I was listening to actually reminded me one time about when I had to wait in a line up for soo long because someone wanted to find out the sale price of that item. I could relate because when your in a hurry it just fustrates you when you only have one item and you know you'll be soo fast, but yet the people infront of you are holding up the whole line up. It drives me nuts! I actually just wanted to go up to the girls and tell them I know!
